CELEBRATING HUMANS
‘Celebrating Humans’ is a documentary project on Vitiligo which aims to challenge conventional beauty standards and celebrate the diversity of human bodies. Vitiligo, a condition that causes loss of skin pigmentation, affects millions of people around the world, and is often stigmatized and misunderstood.
Each photograph captures the unique beauty and strength of the subject, who bravely share their personal story while challenging stereotypes about beauty and perfection. By documenting the lived experiences of those with vitiligo, I am shedding light on this condition and its impact on individuals and society as a whole.
My approach is both artistic and documentary in nature. Subtle lighting and minimal post processing capture the essence of these people and their unique individuality; creating a visual narrative that inspires empathy, admiration, and appreciation for the diversity of the human experience.
